How to Cure Yeast Infections Naturally
No doubt, yeast infections are bothersome and can really make a person uncomfortable during an episode. Most of the time, women are the ones who have to deal with yeast infections, but men do get them sometimes as well. The infection can be transmitted through sexual contact even though this is not a prominent fact. Sexual contact, though, does not have to have occurred for someone to get a yeast infection. Anyone can get one.
One of the most prevalent symptoms of a yeast infection is excessive itchiness in the genital region. On occasion, the vagina might become red and swollen as well. It could be painful when you urinate. If a yeast infection is present, the discharge that normally comes from the vagina turns thick and sometimes clumpy. It could also be white, yellow, and emit an odor. The appearance of this discharge is often described as looking like cottage cheese.
How is it transmitted?
Yeast infections can be transmitted from the vagina to the penis, or from the vagina or penis to the mouth. If a yeast infection develops in the mouth, it is referred to as “thrush.” Condoms can be used to keep from transmitting the infection; however, condoms have been known to make an infection more painful to the woman.
A main issue concerning yeast infections is that they can go away by themselves, but they will also come back. After you get one infection, you are more likely to get another. Yeast infections can present as dry patches of skin that itch around the vaginal region, or they can show up as tine white bumps or spots around the vagina. These presentations are not only uncomfortable, but they can be embarrassing as well.
A variety of non-prescription medications and remedies are available for yeast infections. But, certain treatments have significant side effects that can lead to other issues that are worse than the yeast infection in the first place. One of these treatments is boric acid, which can make a person much sicker than he or she was to begin with.
Candida flourishes in areas that are moist and dark. For instance, a damp towel is a breeding ground for yeast. If your clothes are sweaty or wet, you have the ideal circumstances for the growth of yeast. Even so, some actions can be taken to make your odds of getting a yeast infection lower. You should always dry yourself thoroughly and quickly with a dry, clean towel following a dip in the pool or the shower. You should also wear cotton underwear so your genital region can breathe. You underwear should be changed daily and following any workout program. You should not wear tight-fitting clothes like underwear, pantyhose, or thongs. When you sleep, your clothes should be loose.
You can eliminate yeast infections forever, though, which means you will no longer have the bothersome symptoms that go with them. Approximately 75% of yeast infection sufferers do not even know that is what is causing them to feel terrible.
You can get a prescription cream from your physician to get rid of the symptoms, but you need to know that the root cause of the infection has not been treated, which means you will get another. There are some natural treatments, though, that can alleviate both the symptoms and eliminate the source of the infection as well. Simply do a search online and you will be able to find the one that is right for you.
